Shawna Nazarian, LCSW

Every person’s journey is different, and sometimes, life’s challenges can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves. I offer a brave, open space where you can share your story without judgment and begin the process of understanding and healing.

I’m passionate about helping others discover their inherent strengths and work toward their goals in a space where they feel truly understood. My path to becoming a therapist was born from my own experiences in therapy, where I often felt dismissed, labeled, or misunderstood. I know how painful it can be to feel overlooked or judged. That’s why I’m committed to providing a different experience—one where you can show up as your authentic self without fear of judgment or labeling.

With a trauma-informed approach, I work collaboratively with you to uncover your strengths and create a path forward. Whether you’re facing past wounds or current struggles, I believe in your ability to grow, heal, and thrive. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan, where I developed a strong foundation in clinical practice and learned to approach each person as a unique individual with their own experiences, strengths, and goals. In addition to my academic training, I have experience working in foster care. This experience has deepened my understanding of trauma, attachment, and the profound impact of early life experiences.

I specialize in working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in trauma-informed care and helping clients build resilience after difficult experiences. My approach is grounded in empathy, validation, and the belief that healing happens within the context of a trusting relationship.

When I’m not in the office, I love spending time with my two mischievous cats, Marv and Harry, who bring a lot of joy and laughter to my life. I enjoy baking and experimenting with new recipes, as well as indulging in my creative side through junk journaling.

My approach is collaborative, empathetic, and tailored to meet your unique needs. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, dealing with past trauma, or simply seeking clarity, I am here to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing and growth.

If you’ve ever felt misunderstood or discouraged by traditional therapy, I invite you to experience a different kind of support—one where your voice matters and your struggles are acknowledged with compassion.
