Hello! My name is Marie Torchia. I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health from Eastern Illinois University in 2018. I have obtained all experience and supervision hours to sit for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

I have experience working with individuals and families. I have worked in multiple agency settings from adoption preservation, sexual assault informational services, and residential facility. My expertise is working with children, adolescents, and their families with a wide array of concerns, such as attachment, attunement, mental health diagnoses (ADHD, RAD, Conduct Disorder, PTSD, ODD), and their everyday struggles they experience through life. I have worked with survivors of childhood abuse, domestic and sexual violence.

This work has taught me there is hope, strength, possibility, and power when we work together to bring about change. I feel so privileged to be such a minor part in your journey to healing! It is important for me to create a safe space for you to feel comfortable and open. My goals are to help you reach your goals in a supportive, empathetic, and compassionate space where you feel safe.

I have additional trainings and clinical experience providing Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), CBT, Level One Theraplay, Sexual Assault, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also utilize Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy Techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Integrative Therapy Modalities.

When I am not working, I often spend time with my two fur babies, Lady, and Oliver. I enjoy stress baking and sharing those goodies with others. I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoying the sunshine, cooking, live music and am a novice gardener.
